I recently had a conversation with a media mogul alluding to the fact I may be a dinosaur – this got me thinking.
He claimed social media was the intelligent way to get your message across and drive businesses forward. Ain’t going to argue with that! I agree as part of the marketing mix it is a great method to broad brush your message across and drive an audience to your front door.
15% of marketers surveyed say their company still does not regularly review email opens and clicks. Only 23% say they have integrated their website and emails to track what happens after a click. (Source: MarketingProfs, 2016)
Once they have homed in what next? Your expectations are they will call you. Nope. People are strange beasts – they look at what is offered and unless its an exact fit, an actual need – they will seldom call you. A missed opportunity.
The trick is to get them over the threshold call them – you know they have been looking at your website. You have software that tracks who has visited your website
Is cold calling dead? No, not quite. But a more driven approach to targeting your audience and actually then asking them questions will inevitably drive your sales pipeline forward.
Is warm calling the way forward yes!
